- This movement from Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 has become the iconic music depicting a tranquil morning anywhere. It has been used in movies, cartoons and just about anywhere a an idyllic, pastoral mood is needed. What better to present this music than flutes.
"Morning Mood" is here presented for a flute quintet comprised of 2 C flutes, 2 alto flutes and a bass flute. This mixture allows for some differing timbres to highlight the flavors in the piece. It would be an appropriate piece on just about any venue, offering both technical and melodic challenges for all players.
